Apple Starting to feel the effect of the Adobe Juggernaut

Apple just announced a price reduction of Aperture from $499 to $299 as well as reports of significant staff reductions of the  Aperture team.  Could Apple be a bit worried about  AdobeLightRoom, which is still in beta?

Dave Carabetta's Gravatar I don't think Apple's worried about Adobe. From every article I read, the code base for Aperture is atrocious, and the entire team was fired a couple of days ago:\n\nhttp://www.thinksecret.com/news/0604aperture.html\n\nI think it's more a recognition that the current release is terrible and that they're willing to compensate their customers for their trouble (they're offering a $200 Apple store rebate to anybody who purchased it at $499).

Brad's Gravatar Or it could mean that they've given up on Aperture and are considering purchasing Adobe to get Photoshop and their upcoming Aperture competitor.
