Blackboard obtains patent for LMS, USPTO out of their mind!
By way of Slashdot and e-Literate, The USPTO has granted patent 6,988,138 to Blackboard for LMS (Learning Management System), which pretty much covers Internet based eLearning management.
Interesting, since there is Prior-Art, going back to 1960 covering many of the aspects of Blackboard's patent.
This should prove interesting for eLearning developers using Adobe products. I wonder what's going to happen to SCORM. This is one patent that should be overturned
